About KOSAE

In 2026, the Year of the Red Horse, inspired by the powerful and energetic spirit of the galloping red horse, I sincerely wish good health, vitality, and abundant achievements for you and your families.
Over the past years, our Society has continuously striven to address the critical environmental challenges of air pollution and climate change, while expanding both academic excellence and social responsibility. Amid rapidly changing environmental policies and technological advancements, your dedicated research efforts and active academic exchanges have served as a driving force in establishing our Society as a leading academic community in the field of atmospheric environment.
In particular, following the reorganization of the Ministry of Environment into the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment last year, the scope and significance of the challenges facing our Society have expanded considerably. The year 2026 is expected to mark an acceleration in the implementation of carbon neutrality policies and a heightened emphasis on scientific evidence in responding to the climate crisis. In addition, in-depth discussions are anticipated regarding reforms to management systems for major air pollutants, including fine particulate matter, ozone, and hazardous air pollutants. In this evolving environment, our Society aims to effectively link academic research outcomes with society and policy practice, and to contribute to tangible improvements in air quality through cooperation with industry, government, and civil society.
Furthermore, as addressed during the presidential election last year, we will pursue a virtuous cycle of “Continuity” → “Development” → “Advancement” to build a vibrant Society that not only benefits its members but also leads the way in addressing environmental issues. We will further strengthen the foundation for sustainable development through the cultivation of young researchers and the expansion of international academic exchange programs. Through open academic forums where diverse disciplines and experiences converge, we will continue to learn and grow together, and work with our members to fulfill our shared mission of creating a cleaner and safer atmospheric environment.
In the New Year, our Society will continue to make every effort to meet the expectations and needs of society, grounded in scientific and technological expertise and a strong sense of public responsibility. I sincerely ask for your continued interest and active participation.
Once again, I wish all members good health, happiness, and success in the New Year 2026.
Happy New Year.
Thank you.
